Understand what a GoldOfferCheck estimate can—and cannot—tell you before you make a sale decision.

Educational estimate only

GoldOfferCheck provides general educational information and mathematical estimates. Calculator output is not a professional appraisal, assay, certification, guaranteed sale price, purchase offer, or financial, legal, tax, or investment advice.

No inspection or authentication

GoldOfferCheck cannot inspect, weigh, test, authenticate, or grade your item. Hallmarks can be incomplete or misleading, and actual purity can differ from the selected value. A qualified independent professional should examine items when identity, purity, gemstones, condition, or authenticity matters.

Inputs and assumptions

Results depend on the weight, unit, purity, non-gold deductions, buyer offer, and reference price entered or displayed. Incorrect, incomplete, rounded, or outdated inputs produce incorrect estimates. Verify every input and calculation before relying on a result.

Reference gold price

A displayed gold price may come from a third-party service, may be delayed or unavailable, and may differ from a price used in an actual transaction. When a live request fails, the calculator can display an editable fallback value. Always check the displayed price and timestamp.

Metal value is not total item value

The estimate covers contained gold only. It does not value gemstones, craftsmanship, rarity, brand, provenance, condition, collectability, or other premiums. It also does not deduct refining, testing, commissions, buyer margin, taxes, insurance, shipping, payment, or other transaction costs unless you account for them separately.

No buyer relationship or endorsement

GoldOfferCheck does not buy gold, arrange sales, verify buyers, rank buyers, or act as a party to a transaction. Mentioning a buyer, market, or third-party service does not constitute an endorsement. Independently check reputation, licensing where applicable, fees, insurance, payment terms, return rights, and the final net amount.

Third-party services

Links and data may be provided by third parties. GoldOfferCheck does not control and cannot guarantee their availability, accuracy, security, policies, or continued operation.

Before you sell

Confirm the item’s weight and purity, separate non-gold material where practical, obtain the buyer’s testing method and all deductions in writing, compare multiple final net offers, and consider an independent appraisal for jewelry, coins, watches, antiques, branded pieces, gemstones, or collectible items.
