Three inputs.
A clearer decision.

A headline cash amount is hard to judge. Put it beside the same weight, purity and market reference to make every offer comparable.

01

Confirm the weight

Use a reliable scale and subtract known stones, watch movements or other non-gold parts where possible.

02

Read the hallmark

Common marks include 417 for 10K, 585 for 14K, 750 for 18K and 916 for 22K.

03

Compare the net offer

Enter the amount you would actually receive after fees, then request another quote if needed.

One quote is a number.
Several quotes are a market.

The same item can produce different offers. Compare net amounts against one timestamped metal value instead of relying on sales language.

Example quote A$1,510

Common questions

Is melt value what a gold buyer should pay me?

No. Melt value is a reference for the contained gold, while a buyer may account for testing, refining, market risk and operating costs. Use the percentage to compare quotes, not as a guaranteed payout.

Does GoldOfferCheck buy gold?

No. We are an independent calculator and information site. We do not take possession of your items or make purchase offers.

Are stones included in the calculation?

No. The calculator values gold content only. Estimate and subtract stones or other non-gold components when possible.

Where does the reference gold price come from?

The page requests a USD-per-troy-ounce market reference from Gold API. You can inspect or replace that number before calculating. The methodology page explains the limitations.

Check the number before you sell.
